Fun Practice and Discussion

Girl: After you take the dogs hind leg and go down the main thoroughfare, turn left then cross the main road. The pub is on the left. Don’t forget, when crossing the road: look left, then right, then left again.
Guy: Why?
Girl: If you don’t you might be hit by a car.
Guy: Why? Can’t they see me?
Girl: No. Drivers don’t usually think that someone is going to walk out in front of them. They’ve usually put the pedal to the metal or even put the foot through the floor.
Guy: Sounds dangerous just to cross the road. I think I’d better drive there!
